Tea with Alice and the Cheshire Cat Special Guest Stars: Jan Potocki and his protagonist Alphonse van Worden from The Manuscript Found in Saragossa. Worden wanders and talks to many strange people. The Manuscript Found in Saragossa (written around 1805–1815) ChatGPT says: A labyrinth of stories inside stories. Ghosts, demons, mathematicians, gypsies, cabalists, and philosophical debates all intertwine. Reading feels like wandering through a dream. from wiki: "The first "days" of The Manuscript Found in Saragossa were initially published apart from the rest of the novel in 1805, while the stories comprising the Gypsy chief's tale were added later. The novel was written incrementally and was left in its final form—though never exactly completed—at the time of the author's suicide in 1815." Actually researchers went chasing after this book and found there were 2 versions. One completed in 1804 and published in 1805 but the author kept working on it and had another one in 1810, rewriting the 1805 into a darker more religious tone. Because of that you can find one or the other version as both were published in the 2000s. I didn't realize there were two versions. And one scholarly tome even has both versions in it. There have also been abbreviated versions published and movies based on it. However, sadly, it's not a book you can find in Gutenberg. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Manuscript_Found_in_Saragossa
