Satirical dystopian illustration of artist communities battling social media algorithm changes, spam bots, and content sup...
This gritty satirical digital illustration visualizes real-world frustrations independent online creators and artist communities face navigating social media algorithm changes, spam accounts, and engagement farming. The dystopian battle scene features a tattered "Algorithm Changes" flag, menacing giant robots labeled SPAM, BOT RINGS, and ENGAGEMENT FARMING, and stressed working artists creating amid active combat, with an overlay listing common creator pain points including hidden posts, suppressed visibility, and dropping engagement. Muted war-torn color palettes of ash grey, rust red, and smoky brown reinforce the stressful, combative experience of growing an audience on social platforms.

Some of us are also on X sharing our AI art. Recently X has been a pain. X (formerly Twitter) quietly changed their algorithm in mid‑May to crack down on spam, bot rings, and engagement farming. Unfortunately, a lot of AI artists got caught in the crossfire. QT posts started disappearing from timelines, posts with tags went invisible, and whole threads were getting suppressed. At first I thought it was just me — but it turns out it’s happening to tons of creators. So I put together a blog post with strategies to help us keep collaborating, QT’ing, and supporting each other without getting hidden by the algorithm. It covers safe tagging, safe QTs, and how to avoid the patterns that trigger suppression. I hope these strategies can help you stay visible while you share your AI art https://budgetpixel.com/blog/why-x-posts-are-getting-hidden-after-the-midmay-update-and-how-creators-can-avoid-it

well, if they got a lot of bots to fight. it will take them a while to find a good boundary.
