While she stood in the shallow water preening her porcelain-colored feathers, she feverishly contemplated her other life; the impermanence of the predicament was bittersweet, holding her heart in a stranglehold. "Did he see me transform? Does he search for me? I knew I was pushing my time.. But if so, what if.. " she paused. Small droplets of water turned to beads peppered across her distal feathers responded to the derailment of her thoughts; imprisoned within a single moment as they reflect a forlorn image so distant and alien- no, perhaps the contrary.. a mirror image? billions of heavenly luminaries- An explosion of glimmering fragments- all of them forever separate from each other, never to be reunited, so it would seem; or were they all just droplets of water scattered about the cosmic swan's distal feathers, held captive only by anxious speculations, prevented from reunification with the vast silver ocean of galaxies? Whether only a moment of pause or a dreadful eternity, She found her composure within the threshold of time. She lightly flapped her wings several times, releasing the droplets from her wings to reunite with their glimmering source followed by a few intermittent teardrops; surcharges and interest for having kept pieces from the whole separate for too long, she felt. In that moment, she decided her love of him was incomplete, that the truth was more important to her than her insecurity of rejection; she accepted if he'd never be hers again, his happiness meant more. He deserved to know just as much as she deserved to be whole again.
