~punk daily challenge (April 9 -15, 2026) Everyone is welcome. Choose the day's punk word for your prompt; keep prompts 30 words or less. Do not use prompt magic. Link this blog post in your feed post. Paste your feed post link in the comments below. Visit others and say something positive. See how to participate below in the Daily Section if you need more of an explanation . Comment link format: (day of the week) : ~punk type : (your image title) Example: Friday : stonepunk : RocRoc meets a dino Hint : if the time period for the ~punk world is broad, add the era you want to do. For example to bronzepunk, you can do "Ancient Egypt bronzepunk" or "Ancient Greek bronzepunk" . "Ancient Egypt sandalpunk" will give a different vibe. Daily Section: The ~punks: Choose one or more word from your day + up to 25 words of your own. Ok to stack ~punk. Total prompt words = 30 words or less. Hint: except for a bad habit in adding gears, ~punk words often work as suitcase words and can help you keep your word or character count down. To get rid of gears, for example if you're doing stonepunk in the Ice age, add "no gears" to your prompt. You can use these or makeup your own. If you make one up, please put it in the title. If you are using real people's name, please stick to people who have been passed away 100+ years. any animal punk: lizardpunk, catpunk, dinosaurpunk any mythical animal punk: dragonpunk, unicornpunk, krakenpunk any lost/mythic place: Atlantispunk, Lemuriapunk, HyBrasilpunk, Shambhalapunk, Dilmunpunk Shikibupunk, Lovecraftpunk, EdgarAllenPoepunk, HGWellspunk, JulesVernepunk, (the authors are iffy but the more famous they are, the more likely they will work. Long ago classic authors work better. However sometimes the author shows up. If their fiction is highly associated with an illustration style, sometimes you get that too) Imhoteppunk, Hieronymuspunk, Botticellipunk, Tintorettopunk (Artist names plus ~punk, the more unique the name the better. Artists from 200 years ago or more tend to work ok especially if they are iconic. Be careful of names that are words or prefixes. Grecopunk will give you ancient Greece because greco~ is used for a suffix for Greek things. ElGrecopunk may give you the El Greco's artist world) To participate: a. Go to the Daily Section , pick a word(s) for your day. It's ok to stack ~punk words. Keep your prompt 30 words or less . Simple is better when you first make the prompt to see what your model will do. Do not use Prompt Magic. Make your image, video or song. A simple prompt to start with : "a ~punk man/woman/binary/animal/alien/whatever is doing whatever in a ~punk world." If you use the same ~punk word, it will show you how your AI model interprets that word. They don't have to be the same ~punk words. Example: "A cattlepunk woman riding her horse in a scavengerpunk world." b. Add a link to the this blog post in your image description when you post your image on your feed. Being linked on this blog post means people can find your entry even if the image, video or song has fallen off your My page. Early or late is ok. Just be sure to add your link on April 15 or before. Challenge is over on the 16th. c. In the comments below, add a link to the picture, video or song you made. Use this format: (day of the week) : ~punk type : (your image title) Example: Friday : stonepunk : RocRoc meets a dino d. I will add your link inside the blog under the day. For example, if you do a swordpunk image for Friday, I will add your link under Friday. e. Create something for one day or everyday! Whatever works for you. f. Be sure to visit other people's post in the challenge. NSFW : If your image is not Family or Teen, in the comment link clearly label it Mature or whatever. For whatever reason, some people do not want to click on an NSFW image whether it's because they are at work or for personal reasons so it is important to respect that. Extra Notes Flexible Posting: Posting an image link a day early or late is ok. Given that people have different time zones or are busy, early or late links posted in the comments below are ok until the challenge ends. Be sure to make the challenge day clear so I know where to add your link inside the blog. Only notify everyone on only one challenge post, not every challenge post: As this is a daily challenge, if everyone notified lots of people everyday, that's a ton of notifications. So if you are going to use a notification list, only do it on one post and not every post for this challenge. Post your link here and people will know to check here for entries when they have time. The challenge is hopefully designed so it's as easy for people who are busy and people who have time to equally be able to participate without folks who don't log in everyday feeling barraged by notifications. About the ~punk words Many of the ~punk words come from scifi, fantasy and speculative literature descriptions/discussions. While some include the rebellion against the overarching authority part of punk culture, some focus only on what would happen if tech was based on one aspect like stone (think the Flintstones). These words vary a lot from dystopian to utopian. Some of these words are well-known, while others only a handful of people bandy them about. AI does not always understand ~punk words the way those words are used in literature, games, movies or rpg. Some models understand more than others. Some AI models extrapolate the meaning of the word from the word parts from the suffix word and the ~punk word often giving it a steampunk or cyberpunk vibe so be prepared for the unexpected. The 10-18 credit models often only know the common ~punk words like steampunk or cyberpunk so if you use something else, your result may be very very random. I had fun researching them. Hope you have fun using them.
