Prompt development - iterative increments

In developing prompts for images I frequently lean into an iterative incremental approach. By this I mean building up the full prompt in stages, one element at a time (increments) which generally requires some fine tuning of the section of the prompt for each increment as you go. I have discovered that GPT is reasonably consistent at maintaining portions of the image as you settle on this and adding new elements. Here is the sequence I followed to create this image of the woman walking up the stairs. It was originally inspired by an image that @Hephzibah created on NightCafe, based (I think) on something created by @justrob . Maybe it was her subject and his style. Regardless I am a lover of their work. Specifically the thing that caught my eye was the straps of the underwear visible with the low-rise jeans. Sometimes the more subtle, leaving it to the imagination, is more effective than the blatant. In my mind I pictured leather pants, a mesh vest, the straps and a tattoo. A rear view of her climbing stairs to a loft room. From a style point of view, painted, as that is generally my preference over photographic. But I wanted photorealistic style. I like to reference Jose Royo in my regular prompt, but GPT 1.5 blocks references to loving artists, so have to try create the style through just description. That typically requires some fine-tuning to ensure you don't end with a signature GPT1.5 look. A lot of details, so rather than trying to write a prompt that addressed each element I started small. So we begin with the basic style, subject and compositional details. Photorealistic acrylic painting of a south american woman walking up a flight of stairs. Rear view, full body, dramatic low angle composition. Viewing position - good | Style - good The rest was GPT's imagination. Nice enough but not what I wanted. For the next increment I added a description of her figure. Initially I made this quite detailed and didn't like the results. Sometimes simple is more effective. Photorealistic acrylic painting of a south american woman walking up a flight of stairs. Rear view, full body, dramatic low angle composition. She has a stunning figure. I found it interesting how GPT reimagined the outfit based on the description of her figure. Notice the style and stairs were retained. The next increment focused on her outfit. As alluring as some may find that skirt and vest, it was not what I had in mind. Photorealistic acrylic painting of a south american woman walking up a flight of stairs. Rear view, full body, dramatic low angle composition. She has a stunning figure. She is wearing maroon suede ankle boots, low rise figure-hugging black leather pants, high-cropped red mesh vest. Style, view, figure, outfit all starting to match my desired image. Yes - I know - no straps - yet. And the stairs are still outisde. The next increment located the scene and added the tattoo, Guns 'n Roses inspired. Photorealistic acrylic painting of a south american woman walking up a flight of stairs towards a modern contemporary loft room. Rear view, full body, low angle composition. She has a stunning figure. She is wearing maroon suede ankle boots, low rise black leather pants, high-cropped red mesh vest. Across the small opf he back is a tattoo of two flintlock pistols, pointing in opposite directions with two red roses in the centre. As you can see, the elements I liked are being maintained as the incremental changes are being made. At this point I was struggling with the tattoo and simplified, sometimes you have to cut your losses. Time for the key element of the g-string straps and to address the lighting. Scarlet silk straps high on her hips emerge from under the waistband of the pants. Across the small of her back is a horizaontal tattoo of a red rose. It is evening and the scene is softly lit with light from the studio room. Again took a few iterations tweaking the prompt to get what I wanted - almost. I didn't like the unasked for red above the waistband, so fixed that with addition of a belt. Then added a few more details to create the vibe I wanted - looking over the shoulder, the invitation. Some more details on the style and mood of the image. Of course this final prompt went through a few iterations, adding and removing details. Then there is the matter of 'luck'. Unless the seed is fixed, every generation with the same prompt will vary. I find GPT1.5 pretty consistent over multiple generations with the same prompt. Photorealistic acrylic painting of a south american woman walking up a flight of narrow stairs towards a modern contemporary loft bedroom. Rear view, full body, low angle composition. She has a stunning figure. She is wearing maroon suede ankle boots, low rise black leather pants with a tooled leather belt, high-cropped red open crochet mesh vest. Scarlet silk straps high on her hips emerge from under the pants. Across the small of her back is a horizaontal tattoo of a red rose. She is looking back over her shoulder, down at the viewer, beckoning with one hand. It is evening and the scene is softly lit with light from the studio room. The light casts a subtle halo glow around her hair and body. Brushwork is smooth, precise, detailed. Painting creates a mood of anticipation, is sensual, alluring, seductive. Acrylic painted artwork, not photographic When I saw this version I stopped. There's always that urge to try one more, maybe it gets better, but I think the pursuit of 'perfection' is not for me. I hope you found that interesting and maybe to be of some value. If you made it this far you need a prize. Hope this will suffice. I am generally not drawn to GAI animation. But I had a freebie on NC and had created a version of her on that platform to maintain by daily create streak, so if not why not. I wrote a simple prompt, generated and got lucky . . .
